As per Paul Krugman’s attempt to coax disbelieving Republicans who despair of Trump but can’t get behind Clinton…

Oh, I believe it’s fair to say we’re still in “lesser of two evils” mode, and understand, from their point of view… the “evil” of Clinton is a heck of a lot more evil than Krugman is willing to allow.

“Imagine it were Sharpton Versus Santorum“.

And Trump always has the “Supreme Court!” as a “Trump” card.  Perhaps mostly for religious conservatives who steer off from the vulgarism of Trump, and perhaps one other card Trump has for an assortment of Republicans is the theory that the veep, Pence, will be the man really in charge.

Obama is signaling that the globalists are losing and Hillary is falling too far behind for the technocrats to rig the election in her favor.
“The president implored Republicans to un-endorse him and asked what does it say about the Republican party that Trump is their standard bearer,” Real Clear Politics reported. “Obama called on Republicans to repudiate and condemn the party’s nominee.”
In other words, the president is the Wizard of Oz panicking after Trump pulled the curtain to expose the globalists as the evil they are – and not the saviors of humanity they portray themselves to be.

I love the logic of this… that, you know… like, somehow the other political idea — that the game being played by Obama isn’t to try to increase the tension in the Republican ranks, increase the fallout of controversy — for a nominee that cannot be dumped from the ballot — doesn’t slide into view.

Then again, we have an escape clause if everything goes wrong for Trump on Election Day…

The attempt by the establishment media to characterize Trump’s warning that Hillary plans to steal the election as some nebulous conspiracy theory that he has plucked out of thin air is an insult to objective reality.
Hillary and the Democratic Party establishment stole the nomination from Sanders. The fix was in from the very beginning.
Trump’s warning that Hillary will pull out all stops to do the same in the general election is not a conspiracy theory, it’s a pinpoint assessment of the most likely scenario.

I… think what we’re talking about is the establishment propaganda mill, inflecting  the minds of Americans against him.  Or maybe there’s more.  Or, we just roll into the age old diatribe against The System.

… rigged, as evidence by scattered “Establishments” sliding away — the Republicans for Clinton… those Democrats who decided Santorum is better than Sharpton after all — or…
