I am saddened. An annoying firm is conducting marketing research across the street from my dorm - apartment building in a fairly high traffic area (a few cheap restaurants where students get a quick bite, and a geeky intenet cafe.)

It's annoying because a large numvber of my college student cohorts are actually filling out their questionaires of personal information of who they are for the price of some advertising promotional junk. (A Pepsi shirt and the like.)

I can't help but ask: "WHY?!?"

It must be the Channel One generation. We've been told to be consumers through our education, and now we are happy corporate pawns... Thank you for selling you soul.

Bah.
