In fact, Ron Paul is not only the most conservative candidate, he is\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/voteview.com\/Is_John_Kerry_A_Liberal.htm\"><strong>officially the most conservative<\/strong><\/a>\u00c2\u00a0member of congress and more conservative than any senator or president, not only today but dating all the way back to 1937.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em>Geez Louise. \u00c2\u00a0That&#8217;s quite a rubric for a rather uninteresting item. \u00c2\u00a0Who&#8217;s number two, you might ask?<\/p>\n<pre><strong> 3319 GEORGIA <span style=\"color: red;\">D<\/span> MCDONALD, LARRY 0.851<\/strong><\/pre>\n<p>Hey! \u00c2\u00a0I know him. \u00c2\u00a0I think. \u00c2\u00a0Wasn&#8217;t he &#8212; yeah, the man&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Larry_McDonald\">John Birch Society President<\/a>. \u00c2\u00a0So, there you go&#8230; if you go ahead and define Larry McDonald as the mark of the John Birch Society&#8230; Ron Paul is to the right of the John Birch Society!<\/p>\n<p>Though, the desire to assert this flies in the face of that &#8220;Destroying the Left &#8212; Right paradigm&#8221; idea that these guys are always talking about.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prisonplanet.com\/paul-vows-to-unite-occupy-and-tea-party-movements.html\">Hm<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>After being interrupted by Occupy protesters during a veterans rally in Des Moines, Iowa yesterday, Ron Paul praised the movement, compared it to the Tea Party and declared that he was the only GOP candidate who could bridge the two causes and instill real change in Washington.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/news\/politics\/story\/2011-12-29\/iowa-paul-occupy\/52270890\/1\">That doesn&#8217;t sound like the Ron Paul of 1990.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Having said this, I will make one comment: it&#8217;s obvious to me that the Libertarian Party would be a lot bigger than it is now if its image were perceived as more libertarian and less libertine.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em>Damned Hippies!<\/p>\n<p>I am bluntly surprised that I don&#8217;t see anything in the Prison Planet lineup of stories ripping the Mainstream Media Conspiracy for propping up the candidacy of Rick Santorum &#8212; who is the latest in the long line of Not Romneys to be said to &#8220;surge&#8221; in the polls for a possible Iowa victory. \u00c2\u00a0If he pulls something off, I get the feeling he will just be goddamned lucky to have been last in line &#8212; arbitrarily last in line, I might add &#8212; behind Bachmann, Perry, Caine, and Gingrich&#8230; and with just enough gumption to be the &#8220;Not Paul&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I first noticed the &#8220;Santorum Surge&#8221; with a National Review post &#8220;Maybe it&#8217;s time to take a first look at Santorum&#8221;. \u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/online\/santormentum-rick-santorum-surges-in-iowa\/\">And so it goes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He has a few days to &#8220;surge&#8221; onward. \u00c2\u00a0Still a few more points to go.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonmonthly.com\/political-animal\/2011_12\/clean_for_the_undean034387.php\">Clean for Paul.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>If I were advising the Paul campaign, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d suggest a few other rules for their kiddie corps, such as hiding their dog-eared copies of\u00c2\u00a0Atlas Shrugged\u00c2\u00a0and learning to change the subject when voters ask about the candidate\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s views on foreign policy. But in any event, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s interesting, and a bit depressing, too see the experience of yesterday\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s youthful lefties being put to the service of a cause in which both McCarthy and Dean would be thought of as among the Slavedrivers of Collectivism.\u00c2\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em>Yeah. \u00c2\u00a0If those are the Clean for Gene folks, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/news\/politics\/story\/2011-12-29\/iowa-paul-occupy\/52270890\/1\">is this analogious to the Chicago Protesters of the DNC Convention?<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Five Occupy protesters were arrested Thursday outside the Iowa campaign headquarters of presidential contender\u00c2\u00a0Ron Paul\u00c2\u00a0as the group continued its protest against Republican candidates and\u00c2\u00a0President Obama.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em>History repeats itself as farce, don&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, looking ahead to New Hampshire&#8230; The Free State Project will raise Paul to&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theamericanconservative.com\/blog\/ron-pauls-secret-weapon\/\">a good second place, I&#8217;d say<\/a>.<br \/>\nAnd Virginia, t<a href=\"http:\/\/wonkette.com\/458950\/virginia-gop-now-requiring-blood-oath-firstborn-to-vote-in-primary\">hank you wonkette:<\/a><br \/>\n<em>\u00c2\u00a0so this Super Tuesday\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www2.timesdispatch.com\/news\/virginia-politics\/2011\/dec\/28\/1\/paul-top-gop-primary-ballot-ar-1572784\/\">they will be requiring voters<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0to sign over their souls with a promise to support the eventual GOP nominee in the general election as a condition for being able to cast a ballot in the primary. Since the state has an open primary and Mitt Romney and Ron Paul\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wonkette.com\/458847\/newt-gingrich-the-democratic-process-is-a-terrible-act-of-war\">were the only two candidates<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0organized enough to qualify<br \/>\n<\/em>All right. \u00c2\u00a0You must vote in the general election for the winner of a contest pitting the two candidates that have the largest unfavorables in the Republican Party electorate.<\/p>\n<p>So, to review the Republican Nominating Fight&#8230;<br \/>\nThey&#8217;re all a bunch of nuts. \u00c2\u00a0Thank you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, another day, another chance to look into the Ron Paul universe. \u00c2\u00a0Take it away, Prison de la Planet!
