That&#8217;s 40 votes out of close to 1.5 million votes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In context, the last election went like this:<\/p>\n<table border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"4\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"2\"><strong>David Prosser (incumbent)<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>549,860<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>99.53%<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"2\">(Scattering)<\/td>\n<td align=\"right\">2,569<\/td>\n<td align=\"right\">0.47%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>I want to know who those scattered candidates were in 2001.<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00a0Or I probably don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>The discovery of enough votes to put Prosser over the top has quelled the chomping at the bit from various conservative blogs and commentators about voting fraud.\u00c2\u00a0 And it&#8217;s become siren<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been noted by everyone the sheer dullness of Obama&#8217;s 2012 kick-off video.\u00c2\u00a0 The people bounce about, relating their tepid support for Obama.\u00c2\u00a0 It figures, though I&#8217;ve never really known what there was for people to be &#8220;disappointed&#8221; (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2011\/04\/the-civil-liberties-primary\/236811\/#\">or all that disappointed<\/a>)&#8230; we talk about elections in the most surreal way.\u00c2\u00a0 Things were given away with the whole &#8220;Campaign in poetry, govern in prose&#8221; line &#8212; which always struck me as meaning &#8211;???\u00c2\u00a0 Well, Obama&#8217;s no Pawlenty, I guess.<\/p>\n<p>He does need a strong performance by the Senate candidate in Virginia in order to win what proved to be his pivotal state in 2008.\u00c2\u00a0 That&#8217;s why he worked to get Tim Kaine in the race.\u00c2\u00a0 And he has this working for him.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/the-state-of-nova\/post\/are_you_sure_youre_not_related_to_mike_bass\/2011\/04\/06\/AFRcyymC_blog.html\">George Allen is not going to win his Senate election<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>NBC 4\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s reporter-anchor Craig Melvin is a tall African-American. Which apparently led to this exchange with former Sen.
