{"id":7871,"date":"2011-04-03T11:52:29","date_gmt":"2011-04-03T18:52:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/?p=7871"},"modified":"2011-04-03T11:52:29","modified_gmt":"2011-04-03T18:52:29","slug":"obamas-nobel-peace-prize-revisited-by-obama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2011\/04\/03\/obamas-nobel-peace-prize-revisited-by-obama\/","title":{"rendered":"Obama&#8217;s Nobel Peace Prize revisited by Obama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2011\/03\/30\/obama-steven-chu-nobel-prize_n_842773.html\">Obama mocks his Nobel Prize<\/a>:\u00c2\u00a0 <em>President Obama took a brief moment during an ambitious speech about energy on Wednesday to  simultaneously praise a colleague and drop a bit of self-deprecating  humor about his Nobel Peace Prize.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;[Energy Secretary Steven] Chu&#8217;s the right guy to do this, he&#8217;s got a  Nobel prize in physics &#8212; he actually deserved his Nobel prize,&#8221; Obama  said, drawing laughter with his offhanded remark on the otherwise  serious topic of improving the safety of natural gas extraction.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Har de har har.<\/p>\n<p>You know, as much as I appreciate this self-deprecating joke to the most surreal moment of the early Obama Administration (What were those Norwegians thinking?), I would have appreciated far more had Obama declined his Nobel Prize &#8212; and there is precedent for that &#8212; considering his Noble Prize acceptance speech included this deep thought on his road ahead:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Some will kill.
