\u00e2\u20ac\u0153This is a fakery,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Simpson said on Fox News. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153If they care at all about their children or grandchildren, and sometimes I doubt that \u00e2\u20ac\u201c I think, you know, grandchildren now don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t write a thank-you for the Christmas presents, they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re walking on their pants with the cap on backwards listening to the enema man and Snoopy Snoopy Poop Dogg, and they don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t like them!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/em><\/p>\n

The old ex-Senator is all right<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0 His message is that “The Kids are all right<\/em>.”\u00c2\u00a0 Read and listen to the words again.\u00c2\u00a0 He is speaking in regards to the attitude everyone is ascribing to him — defending the kids from those that would disparage them — his own version of “Won’t somebody please think of the children?”\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 It is even possible that Alan Simpson knows those names — Snoop Doggy Dogg and Eninem, and anyways the name “Snoopy Snoopy Poop Dog” is no less ridiculous and has the advantage of not\u00c2\u00a0coming from a\u00c2\u00a0sexual allusion (though it’s more explicit in its reference to dog poop).\u00c2\u00a0 Of course, it’s also possible that Alan Simpson doesn’t, but the point is it is immaterial.<\/p>\n

There is also this matter of media manipulation at work.\u00c2\u00a0 In this media environment, he would not have garnered as much media attention he not dropped these neologoisms.\u00c2\u00a0 The better to be thought a fool and get your point across about the debt than be ponderous and frank and unnoticed.<\/p>\n
