{"id":7269,"date":"2010-12-13T13:44:55","date_gmt":"2010-12-13T20:44:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/?p=7269"},"modified":"2010-12-13T13:44:55","modified_gmt":"2010-12-13T20:44:55","slug":"sports-snort-the-exciting-nfc-west-chase-continues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2010\/12\/13\/sports-snort-the-exciting-nfc-west-chase-continues\/","title":{"rendered":"Sports Snort: The Exciting NFC West Chase continues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two weeks back, I brought up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2010\/12\/03\/sports-snort-the-dream-of-the-7-9-nfl-playoff-team-remains-alive\/\">this Great Divisional race<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I bailed off of last week, because the two division leaders won their game and brought themselves back to .500.\u00c2\u00a0 Unfortunately, this erased the last hurdle to 6-10.\u00c2\u00a0 This week brings us back to the satisfying status quo.\u00c2\u00a0 The three-cornered race looks like this:<\/p>\n<p>Saint Louis Rams: six wins, seven losses<br \/>\nSeattle Seahawks: six wins, seven losses<br \/>\nSan Francisco 49ers: five wins, eight losses<br \/>\nArizona Cardinals: four wins, nine losses<\/p>\n<p>To recap the games played this week,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.footballnewsnow.com\/2010\/despite-18-point-loss-the-rams-remain-atop-the-nfc-west\/\"> for Saint Louis<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>After the blowout loss, coach Spagnuolo wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t in the mood to talk about his team\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s playoff chances. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think that we played well. That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s kind of obvious. The message to the team was that if you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t protect the football and you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t tackle well on defense, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s hard to beat any team, let alone one of the best teams in the league.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>When asked about the Rams still being tied for first place in the NFC West, Spagnuolo replied, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think about that. To be honest with you maybe tomorrow I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll wake up and look at it. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m very proud of this football team in what they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re doing. I just don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s us. We all have a little bit of pride in playing a very good football team.
