{"id":6544,"date":"2010-07-19T12:39:43","date_gmt":"2010-07-19T19:39:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/?p=6544"},"modified":"2010-07-19T12:39:43","modified_gmt":"2010-07-19T19:39:43","slug":"every-tea-partier-an-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2010\/07\/19\/every-tea-partier-an-island\/","title":{"rendered":"every tea partier an island"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wait.\u00c2\u00a0 There&#8217;s a &#8220;Tea Party Federation&#8221; that hovers over the various Tea Party groups?\u00c2\u00a0 I guess there would have to be a &#8220;Federation&#8221; leader, tugging it into the direction of the corporate Republican Party establishment I&#8217;d gather.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I had to give the NAACP some credit, after hearing and seeing some of the interviews last week.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a case of &#8220;Name who&#8221;, and they did indeed name who.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Matt Williams. \u00c2\u00a0The &#8220;Tea Party Express&#8221; guy.\u00c2\u00a0 So, I guess, the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2010\/07\/19\/tea-party-boots-mark-will_n_651196.html\">Tea Party Express&#8221; has been kicked out of the &#8220;Federation<\/a>&#8220;, and that is&#8230; that?<br \/>\nFrom a point of tactical &#8220;All Hands on Deck&#8221; spittle war, this is unfortunate for &#8220;Tea Party&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 NEVER Surrender, never give up an inch &#8212; the\u00c2\u00a0rule that guides you to the\u00c2\u00a0&#8220;doubling down&#8221; dictate that if you cede ground, your enemies will demand more, and it will open you up to possible nuance, reflection and self-reflection &#8212; when you need to be on the attack &#8212; &#8220;you&#8230; you&#8217;re the one whose racist, you stupid NAA <strong>COLORED!!!<\/strong> P.\u00c2\u00a0 Eh?\u00c2\u00a0 Eh?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What is with these guys and their imaginary conversations with Abraham Lincoln?<\/p>\n<p>Matt Williams never signed up for the Federation.<br \/>\nEvery Tea Partier an island.<\/p>\n<p>Also, Every Tea Party success (however defined)\u00c2\u00a0claimed to their own sector.\u00c2\u00a0 Take this headline from the &#8220;Daily Paul&#8221;:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailypaul.com\/node\/140196\">Rasmussen: US Senate Race Ron Paul Endorsed Clint Didier 48% Incumbent Murray 45%<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Leave aside the sketchiness of Ramussen as a polling unit, as well the fact that even tossing in all Rasmussen polls this fits the category of the &#8220;One of these things is doing its own thing&#8221; &#8212; wait and see, I suppose, and go to the problem with this headline.\u00c2\u00a0 Nobody knows Clint Didier as a &#8220;Ron Paul&#8221; endorsed candidate.\u00c2\u00a0 They know Clint Didier as endorsed by the politician that he&#8217;s touting with great fury &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestranger.com\/slog\/archives\/2010\/06\/11\/4257225-didier-palin-around-again\">Sarah Palin!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sarah Palin is kicking Ron Paul&#8217;s ass.\u00c2\u00a0 Google &#8220;Clint Didier&#8221; and &#8220;Ron Paul&#8221; and you get\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a034,100 results.\u00c2\u00a0 Google &#8220;Clint Didier&#8221; and &#8220;Sarah Palin&#8221; and you get 83,300 results.<br \/>\nThe headline of the day:\u00c2\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/seattletimes.nwsource.com\/html\/politicsnorthwest\/2012369013_didier_campaign_tops_570000_cr.html\">Didier campaign tops $570,000, credits Palin boost<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Palin, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csmonitor.com\/USA\/Politics\/The-Vote\/2010\/0719\/Sarah-Palin-and-Shakespeare-What-do-they-have-in-common-Refudiate\">creative grammatarian <\/a>in the tradition of great Republican forebears like <a href=\"http:\/\/history1900s.about.com\/od\/1900s\/qt\/trspelling.htm\">Theodore Roosevelt <\/a>&#8212;<br \/>\nthe problem with Palin&#8217;s &#8220;tweet&#8221; &#8212; is not &#8220;refudiate&#8221; &#8212; it&#8217;s that the Muslims have nothing to refudiate &#8212; whatever her nativist homeland base thinks.<\/p>\n<p>Somewhat noteworthy, Sarah Palin hopped aboard the &#8220;Tea Party Express&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 She&#8217;ll either have to stick with it, but if she does she will no longer be a part of the Federation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wait.\u00c2\u00a0 There&#8217;s a &#8220;Tea Party Federation&#8221; that hovers over the various Tea Party groups?\u00c2\u00a0 I guess there would have to be a &#8220;Federation&#8221; leader, tugging it into the direction of the corporate Republican Party establishment I&#8217;d gather.
