{"id":4820,"date":"2009-10-19T11:49:57","date_gmt":"2009-10-19T18:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/?p=4820"},"modified":"2009-10-19T11:53:06","modified_gmt":"2009-10-19T18:53:06","slug":"hitler-obama-hitler-mustache-crap-and-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2009\/10\/19\/hitler-obama-hitler-mustache-crap-and-stuff\/","title":{"rendered":"Hitler Obama Hitler Mustache Crap and stuff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I.\u00c2\u00a0 You know, I had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2009\/10\/16\/george-hw-bush-olbermann_n_324466.html\">this item from The Rachel Maddow Show<\/a> playing on, without watching it.\u00c2\u00a0 In trying to curb some intemperate things against Obama from conservative activist students <a href=\"http:\/\/media.www.thebatt.com\/media\/storage\/paper657\/news\/2009\/10\/16\/Opinion\/Exclusive.Event-3805189.shtml\">and other organizations<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0(4 paragraphs down), George Herbert Walker Bush made some comments, and in trying to more or less balance them he referenced &#8220;the cables&#8221; and Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann as &#8220;sick puppies&#8221;, and the whole wall of talk radio and television hosts being essentially narcistic in these things, that guaranteed Rachel Maddow would cover it.\u00c2\u00a0 Maddow went on, and then mentioned the Obama Hitler Mustache on campus.\u00c2\u00a0 To which I had to run over, roll the thing, and go back to 8:40 or thereabouts and watch for half a minute for some context.\u00c2\u00a0 Yep.\u00c2\u00a0 She showed the Larouchies without mentioning that they were Larouchies.<\/p>\n<p>But before I could join some conservative commenters who&#8217;ve banged the drums, though with a somewhat less partisan &#8220;Don&#8217;t.\u00c2\u00a0 Show.\u00c2\u00a0 The Larouche.\u00c2\u00a0 Obama Hitler Mustache.\u00c2\u00a0 Unless you&#8217;re explicitly covering.\u00c2\u00a0 The Larouchies.&#8221;, I see that Ann Coulter (one such member of that group, though she referenced it to &#8220;Left-Wing Plants&#8221;, more dishonesty on her part) has made the<a href=\"http:\/\/crooksandliars.com\/david-neiwert\/coulter-goes-larouchie-nfl-players-w\"> &#8220;George Soros a Nazi Collaborator&#8221;<\/a> comment.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Which, I suppose, if they want to claim Ann Coulter might prove her a big fan of the pamphlet &#8220;Your Enemy, George Soros&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Not that anyone cares too much.\u00c2\u00a0 You will notice if you look down the comments section of the &#8220;Crooks and Liars&#8221; post that no one mentions the Larouche factor of the post, even though that&#8217;s in the title.\u00c2\u00a0 The same thing works with <a href=\"http:\/\/voices.washingtonpost.com\/ezra-klein\/2009\/10\/understanding_the_tea_parties.html\">Ezra Klein&#8217;s reference here<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Ezra Klein is wrong about that being a political party, though I suppose they thre together ad hoc political parties every four yehars during the general election for the various presidential bids &#8212; &#8220;Economic Party&#8221; or some such ridiculousness.<\/p>\n<p>Another instance of this at play is shown with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonherald.com\/news\/regional\/view.bg?articleid=1204458&amp;format=comments&amp;cnum=2&amp;at_comment=909661#cnum909661\">comment here<\/a>:\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One thing a bit instructive of Obama&#8217;s appearance on behest of George Herbert Walker Bush at Texas A and M: the conspiratorial book du jour, birthplace or way station of various Bush rumors and innuendoes &#8212; was written and published under the auspices of the Larouche organization.\u00c2\u00a0 The Barack Obama book that fits the same mode and is in the same basic genre wasn&#8217;t.\u00c2\u00a0 Mr. Tarpley is the one constant.<\/p>\n<p>Another basic thing about this is shown around <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salemnews.com\/puopinion\/local_story_288235413.html?keyword=topstory\">here<\/a>:\u00c2\u00a0 <em>Weaving Rush into this is bizarre.\u00c2\u00a0 <\/em>Weaving RUSH into this is bizarre?\u00c2\u00a0 Really.\u00c2\u00a0 Leatherstocking bait: an item of reference for &#8220;validator purpose&#8221; at wikipedia:\u00c2\u00a0<br \/>\n<em>In recent months, <strong>high-profile Obama critics<\/strong> such as talk show host Rush Limbaugh and political activist Lyndon LaRouche have used Nazi imagery to attack the administration\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s health-care proposals.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Well, it fits the biases to claim that.\u00c2\u00a0 Than again:<\/p>\n<p><em>Two members of the organization \u00e2\u20ac\u201d who declined to identify themselves to a reporter \u00e2\u20ac\u201d planted themselves outside the Ipswich post office on Tuesday passing out literature and seeking donations from those sympathetic to the cause.<br \/>\n<\/em>Skip to comments.<br \/>\n<em>I compare Obama to Hitler all of the time because unfortunately that is who our president most resembles since it appears he can only lead through his oral skills and nothing else.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>One referral possibility to harrangue on the phone, I suppose.\u00c2\u00a0 Even though, mostly we&#8217;re just aiming for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/x-6572-NY-Obama-Administration-Examiner~y2009m10d14-Republicans-use-video-to-compare-Pelosi-and-Obama-to-Hitler\">a certain controversy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>But if the Democrats had anyone who knew what they were doing, they wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t let this go. Its further evidence that the Obama as Hitler posters and swastikas carried by Republicans at the town hall meetings were much more of a calculated and organized effort on the part of Republicans than any \u00e2\u20ac\u0153grassroots\u00e2\u20ac\u009d spontaneous reaction. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Note the poster included there.<\/p>\n<p>A bit instructive the story is on the controversy last week of an official Republican twitter feed linking to a youtube clip of Hitler discoursing on Obama&#8217;s Health Care Plan.\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;Sick Puppies&#8221;, as the elder Bush would phrase it, though by any rights it would put to rest the hub-ub of moveon&#8217;s two Bush Hitler contest entrants, as it&#8217;s a demonstration of how these things happen.\u00c2\u00a0 It won&#8217;t, though &#8212; &#8220;See No Evil, Hear No Evil&#8221; as soon as you put yoursel finto an identity.\u00c2\u00a0 One good thing about that link is it put it into general use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2009\/10\/16\/the-best-balloon-boy-joke_n_323562.html?slidenumber=10#slide_image\">for Balloon Boy mocking<\/a>, funnier probably due to an apolitical nature.<\/p>\n<p><em>(<em>OR:<\/em> <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.strausnews.com\/articles\/2009\/10\/16\/warwick_advertiser\/opinion\/2.txt\">\u00e2\u20ac\u02dcThe Larouche PAC does not represent the &#8230; Republican Party\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>II.\u00c2\u00a0 Let&#8217;s run down the bend with Leatherstocking at wikipedia.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Talk:LaRouche_movement#.22others.22\">Here we see Leatherstocking attempting to thrust Roy<em>Frankhauser<\/em>, among others, out of the org&#8217;s history<\/a>.<br \/>\n<em>I removed the section called &#8220;others,&#8221; which seems to have been there for &#8220;guilt by association&#8221; purposes. If the criterion for inclusion were simply that a person&#8217;s name was linked with LaRouche in press accounts, you could have hundreds of names in that category. Unless a reliable source has specifically named a person as a member or supporter of the movement, there is no reason to include that person in the article.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion\/Jeremiah_Duggan_(2nd_nomination)\">Here we see Leatherstocking demand Dennis King disclose his &#8220;Conflict of Interest&#8221; in arguing against deleting the Duggan page.<\/a> Interesting.\u00c2\u00a0 You know what Leatherstocking might consider as a good bolster his case?\u00c2\u00a0 As we&#8217;ve seen in\u00c2\u00a0 an example of getting a &#8220;vindicator&#8221; in, ala Menshikov, perhaps a Dennis King entry on wikipedia!<\/p>\n<p>Here we see Leatherstocking change <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Talk:Lyndon_LaRouche#.22Economist.22\">the lede to describe the man as an &#8220;Economist&#8221;<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 That should be changed back any minute now, I&#8217;m guessing.<\/p>\n<p>III.\u00c2\u00a0 An interesting development from Laland, worth keeping tabs on.\u00c2\u00a0 Leaving aside <a href=\"http:\/\/community.livejournal.com\/ontd_political\/4369044.html\">some worth of exploration of what the phrase &#8220;boy&#8221; suggests, in a loaded manner with Obama<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 (We are back to the &#8220;Monkey&#8221; problem of how a select handful of insults are loaded in the double standard.)<\/p>\n<p>To enumerate these things.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.salemnews.com\/punews\/local_story_287001831.html\">Case Number One<\/a>:\u00c2\u00a0 <em>The man and woman refused to be interviewed or give their names. She was asking people what they thought of Obama&#8217;s mustache, as they walked past or dropped an envelope in the mailbox.<br \/>\n<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/media.www.clipperonline.info\/media\/storage\/paper1338\/news\/2009\/10\/09\/Features\/Larouche.Campaign.Sparks.Controversy.On.Campus-3799382.shtml#5\">Case Number Two<\/a>:\u00c2\u00a0 <em>When contacted, the EvCC staffer refused to speak about the topic. LaRouche representatives also refused to be interviewed on the subject.<br \/>\n<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/salemnews.com\/puopinion\/local_story_288235413.html?keyword=topstory\">Case Number Three<\/a><em>:\u00c2\u00a0 <em>Two members of the organization \u00e2\u20ac\u201d who declined to identify themselves to a reporter \u00e2\u20ac\u201d planted themselves outside the Ipswich post office on Tuesday passing out literature and seeking donations from those sympathetic to the cause.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thesunchronicle.com\/articles\/2009\/10\/17\/news\/6285149.txt#\">Case Number Four<\/a><em>:<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0<em> The man said the LaRouche organization does not allow them to talk to the media, and he referred all questions to the organization&#8217;s public relations person.<br \/>\n<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/media.www.bsccomment.com\/media\/storage\/paper662\/news\/2009\/10\/01\/CampusNews\/Obama.Upset.Erupts.On.Campus-3790091.shtml\">Case Number Five<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0(not quite the same, but in the ballpark):\u00c2\u00a0 <em>When students asked questions such as &#8220;Where is the genocide in this country?&#8221; and &#8220;Why are you comparing Obama to Hitler?&#8221; LaRouche would only give vague responses that always came back to the monotonous line &#8220;read our pamphlets.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Then again, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-signal.com\/news\/article\/19584\/\">some people are cleared to talk to the media<\/a>.<br \/>\n<em>A LaRouche spokeswoman defended the display, saying the comparison between Obama\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s health care plans and Hitler\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s genocide is fair because it starts a conversation on how the two policies are similar.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153It raises the right question: What\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the similarity between Obama\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s health care policy and Hitler\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said LaRouche health care spokeswoman Nancy Spannaus.<br \/>\n<\/em>The &#8220;Larouche Health Care Spokesoman&#8221; Nancy Spannaus.\u00c2\u00a0 Who I&#8217;m sure can speak\u00c2\u00a0on regarding\u00c2\u00a0<em>Larouche Health Care<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0 Incidentally, Ms. Spannaus is wrong: it&#8217;s not\u00c2\u00a0poetic or artful.\u00c2\u00a0 If you google &#8220;Obama Hitler&#8221; and look at the images, the first images are far more interesting than the one deployed by the Larouche org.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0Apparently <a href=\"http:\/\/weareaustin.com\/content\/fulltext\/?cid=32861#\">this is another &#8220;Larouche Health Care Spoksperson&#8221;:<\/a><br \/>\n<em>Craig Holtzklark, a volunteer from Houston told KEYE-TV the signs were to grab people&#8217;s attention to Obama&#8217;s health care plan.<br \/>\n&#8230; <\/em>It so happens that Craig Holtzlark <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lookingattheleft.com\/2009\/08\/democrats-say-obama-hitler-should-be-hung-for-crimes\/\">is also a volunteer from Colorado<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/egbertowillies.com\/2009\/05\/14\/interview-with-larouche-political-action-committee.aspx?ref=rss\">Texas<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Itenerant Preachers be they.\u00c2\u00a0 (Note: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.factnet.org\/vbforum\/showpost.php?p=381405&amp;postcount=3035\">I owe this Holtzlark Caper to xlcer at factnet<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Apparently also authorized for some limited debating,\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.easternecho.com\/index.php\/article\/2009\/10\/prophetic_cult_preys_on_campus\">you could go debate Brian Crowell here<\/a>:<br \/>\n<em>I am an African American teacher of Economics. Larouche is 100 percent accurate.
