{"id":4620,"date":"2009-09-04T13:45:04","date_gmt":"2009-09-04T20:45:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2009\/09\/04\/the-paranoid-stylings-obama-is-coming-to-indoctrinate-our-children\/"},"modified":"2009-09-04T13:49:09","modified_gmt":"2009-09-04T20:49:09","slug":"the-paranoid-stylings-obama-is-coming-to-indoctrinate-our-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2009\/09\/04\/the-paranoid-stylings-obama-is-coming-to-indoctrinate-our-children\/","title":{"rendered":"The Paranoid Stylings: Obama is Coming to Indoctrinate Our Children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Obama.\u00c2\u00a0 To speak before the children on the day after\u00c2\u00a0Labor Day.\u00c2\u00a0 Horrors!<\/p>\n<p>Time for all the bloggers to run to Photo-shop and <a href=\"http:\/\/gatewaypundit.blogspot.com\/2009\/09\/missouri-school-districts-opt-out-of.html\">splice together images of Hitler Youth<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0with Obama buttons!<\/p>\n<p>I mean, the timing of it all!\u00c2\u00a0 Right here, when he&#8217;s pushing Health Care!\u00c2\u00a0 And&#8230; on the first day of school for many locales.\u00c2\u00a0 One or the other.<\/p>\n<p>Parents in\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sltrib.com\/news\/ci_13256838?source=rss\">Utah<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ky3.com\/news\/local\/56785532.html\">Kentucky<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.click2houston.com\/education\/20692353\/detail.html\">Texas<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0are keeping their children out of school for the day.\u00c2\u00a0 To boycott th video taped message.\u00c2\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know what age children will start making these connections, but the connection will be made: your parents are bonkers!\u00c2\u00a0 (Or, I suppose, in the most rarefied of red districts, the students left behind have parents who are Liberal Socialist Communists?)<\/p>\n<p>There is some manner of historical digging.\u00c2\u00a0 We remember what Bush was doing on September 11, and that was tied directly to promotion of his &#8220;No Child Left Behind&#8221; policies.\u00c2\u00a0 Reagan took a student&#8217;s question and gave his support for Supply Side Economics.\u00c2\u00a0 Apparently.\u00c2\u00a0 I suppose politico digs up something a bit more algined to this &#8220;controversy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/stories\/0909\/26744_Page2.html\"><em>Obama isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t the first president to be criticized this way<\/em><\/a><em>. O\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Neill recalled President George H.W. Bush made televised address to students in October 1991 as campaign season was heating up. A handful of Democrats denounced Bush\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s address as pure politics. Bush asked students to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153take control\u00e2\u20ac\u009d of their education and to write him a letter about ways students could help him achieve his goals, strikingly similar to Obama\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s messages.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t remember that speech.\u00c2\u00a0 Will the kids remember the Obama speech?<br \/>\nI do think things surrounding the Persian Gulf War trended around the boosterism that Obama is claimed to be pecking out here, treated as the naturally good thing\u00c2\u00a0in stasis.\u00c2\u00a0 I know that in grades higher than I was and probably in locales more liberal than I was in, some students organized a walk-out at the start of the Gulf War&#8230; for a conciousness veneer to play hookey, I would say.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway.\u00c2\u00a0 My message to the Negative Reaction to Obama on this:\u00c2\u00a0 <strong>Get a Grip.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Obama.\u00c2\u00a0 To speak before the children on the day after\u00c2\u00a0Labor Day.\u00c2\u00a0 Horrors!
