{"id":4466,"date":"2009-08-07T12:12:27","date_gmt":"2009-08-07T19:12:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/?p=4466"},"modified":"2009-08-07T12:36:26","modified_gmt":"2009-08-07T19:36:26","slug":"webster-tarpley-and-lyndon-larouche-barnacles-in-search-of-hub-ubs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2009\/08\/07\/webster-tarpley-and-lyndon-larouche-barnacles-in-search-of-hub-ubs\/","title":{"rendered":"Webster Tarpley and Lyndon Larouche: Barnacles in Search of Hub Ubs."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, I&#8217;m thinking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.readplatform.com\/obama-and-hitler-really-bffs\/\">that that image was photo-shopped<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 (For it in action, see <a href=\"http:\/\/didisayimjustaboy.blogspot.com\/2009\/08\/sad-old-crank.html\">here<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 .\u00c2\u00a0 He has found the one bit of illogic his membership doesn&#8217;t seem to understand is a bit of illogic &#8212; See my comment in the last post.\u00c2\u00a0 And as for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.changetowin.org\/connect\/2009\/08\/we_bring_you_tomorrows_news_to.html\">him<\/a>, meh &#8212; I&#8217;ve been swirling around this train for some time.\u00c2\u00a0 Wherever a political leader is <a href=\"http:\/\/reason.com\/blog\/show\/135276.html\">referred to as Hitler<\/a>, the Larouchies will come in like barnacles.\u00c2\u00a0 The answer to <a href=\"http:\/\/scotchplains.patch.com\/articles\/opponents-of-obama-health-plan-protest-outside-sp-post-office\">Chuck Beardsley&#8217;s question <\/a>lies round about there and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/protestorwithnazisign.jpg\">with these things<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Okay.\u00c2\u00a0 Here we have Howie G <a href=\"http:\/\/realestatecrashnow.blogspot.com\/2009\/08\/republican-party-says-its-not-behind.html\">laying down the Larouche line on the town hall meeting disruptions<\/a>.:<br \/>\n<em>The Republican Party says it&#8217;s not behind the protests, but <\/em><strong><span style=\"color: #669922;\"><em>LaRouche Pac and Lyndon Larouche <\/em><\/span><\/strong><em>say that they are. Yes, inside sources say that larouchepac is the catalyst in the resistance to a Nazi dictatorship over health care.<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0 The phrasing is off.\u00c2\u00a0 Is Larouche saying that the Republicans are saying the Republicans or the Larouchies are not behind the protests?\u00c2\u00a0 (Ah.\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;Inside sources&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 I suspect the &#8220;inside sources&#8221; are random Democratic bloggers\u00c2\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.tampabay.com\/buzz\/2009\/08\/new-leadership-at-league-of-women-voters.html?cid=6a00d83451b05569e20120a526f4b7970c#comment-6a00d83451b05569e20120a526f4b7970c\">cable news commentators<\/a> wanting to\u00c2\u00a0put the Disruptors in its worst possible light?)\u00c2\u00a0 <em>Of course he [Harry Reid]\u00c2\u00a0doesn&#8217;t have enough cajones to admit that Larouche Pac is in on the action.<br \/>\n<\/em>Uh huh.\u00c2\u00a0 Actually the risk of tarring the whole &#8220;movement&#8221; with its Larouchite barnacle element is not worth the rewards (nor rewarding Larouche, for that matter).\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a careful tactic\u00c2\u00a0that would require \u00c2\u00a0not tossing in the more mainstream opposition of mainstream Americans into that pot, and such a thing would buttress against a cry of<a href=\"http:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/weblogs\/TWSFP\/2009\/08\/think_progress_msnbc_manufactu.asp\"> &#8220;Hey!&#8221;.<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0(The Reason Magazine blog\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reason.com\/blog\/show\/135291.html\">numerating<\/a> the &#8220;Birthers&#8221; citations.)\u00c2\u00a0 Sorry, Howie G.\u00c2\u00a0 Enjoy your Fantasy World &#8212; you&#8217;ll get mentioned in passing by the non-Elite.<\/p>\n<p>For the Larouchies, the &#8220;Disruption tactic&#8221; is in their tradition, learned from sparodic hits on college campus lecture classes\u00c2\u00a0where they &#8230; <em>dressed up in gorilla suits?<\/em> &#8230; to &#8220;challenge&#8221; the Newton Cult and inject the Riemann &#8212; Larouche into Econ.\u00c2\u00a0 So, this is their element, I suppose.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fringe movements often follow a sort of <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prospect.org\/cs\/articles?article=the_fence_to_nowhere_08\"><em>pattern<\/em><\/a><em>, where the initial genuine energy of fringe devotees is exploited for the financial gain of their leaders, who then collapse into infighting over reaping the benefits.<br \/>\n<\/em>Consider that when considering this.:<br \/>\n<em>\u00c2\u00a0I get the feeling that the loudmouths I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve encountered the past two days at the town halls were most likely LaRoucheites, birthers or truthers rather than people that attended a tea party because of their concern about the current state of the country.<br \/>\n<\/em>Can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get too haughty with that one, throwing a link to an article about the Minute Men.\u00c2\u00a0 Sometime\u00c2\u00a0around that time\u00c2\u00a0Keith Olbermann was entertaining the notion of the 2004 stolen Ohio election, with the opening caveat along the lines of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Somewhere between tin &#8211; foil hat and legitimate citizen investigative journalism\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, one Bev Harris was <a href=\"http:\/\/journals.democraticunderground.com\/Kelvin%20Mace\/2\">traversing about for cash and fame<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Also swarming around that one: the Larouchies.\u00c2\u00a0 Here it was because they were injecting themselves into the Fantasy Shadow Government as a &#8220;player&#8221;, working with Representative Conyers they claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Interesting to note: <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Talk:People_United_Means_Action\">PUMA activity is still going on in the wikipedia\u00c2\u00a0editing section<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 There is not a whole lot to say about that brief spurt of disgruntled Hillary Clinton partisans, suffering the affront of personal identification with a losing presidential candidate.\u00c2\u00a0 Two figures who hovered around this one: Lyndon Larouche and Webster Tarpley.\u00c2\u00a0 In this case, I have to say Larouche&#8217;s message made more narrative sense.\u00c2\u00a0 Larouche wants to claim to be an &#8220;Insider&#8221; fighting factions of the Elites, and thus he is with Clinton and against Obama.\u00c2\u00a0 Tarpley&#8217;s stated hope with Clinton, that she would open up a Democratic Party Realignment, made no sense on his own terms of a nation that blows up the World Trade Center.\u00c2\u00a0 But I suspect Tarpley just had a long range in his purview, to act as a number one conspiratorial oppenent in the Obama Administration.\u00c2\u00a0 He was more consistent in opposition of Obama from that point to the present, whereas the Larouchies toyed with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/worldnews\/northamerica\/usa\/barackobama\/5967942\/Barack-Obama-faces-30-death-threats-a-day-stretching-US-Secret-Service.html\">always lingering Death Threats problem <\/a>that plagues Obama for a time after the election &#8212; watching and waiting for Hub-Ubs to attach to.<\/p>\n<p>Interesting to note, Webster Tarpley has thrown himself well into the Birthers.\u00c2\u00a0 He is, at the very least, wading into it, though it looks as though he&#8217;s careful not to\u00c2\u00a0cement it\u00c2\u00a0part of his conspiratorial storyline\u00c2\u00a0&#8212; offering his radio show as a platform for the Russian women generally mocked on mainstream media, and from the start during the election campaign thrusting it as &#8220;an issue that needs answering&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 Larouche, meanwhile, has opted out of this hub ub.\u00c2\u00a0 Probably a good idea: he&#8217;s positioned himself for re-entry into Obama support if Obama shaves his mustache and somehow is seen as rejecting his Nazi Advisors.<\/p>\n<p>The thing about these things is that I don&#8217;t for a moment think Larouche gave one whiff about the presidential run of Hillary Clinton, nor do I think he cares about Health Care Policy.\u00c2\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think Webster Tarpley cares at all about Obama&#8217;s birth certificate.\u00c2\u00a0 You know the Columbia University Student strike of 1968, which served as Larouche&#8217;s &#8220;coming out&#8221;?\u00c2\u00a0 (I say that aware that his most loyal associates, still today, were with him back to &#8212; I think 1965, actually).\u00c2\u00a0 The strike had in it the two great struggles of 1960s politics: the Vietnam War and Civil Rights &#8212; eliminating Defense Contracts from the University, and wanting to stop the construction of a gym encroaching into black Harlem.\u00c2\u00a0 Larouche didn&#8217;t care about those issues.\u00c2\u00a0 Even then, 1968, before mop-up, &#8217;twas hub-ub and he was a barnacle.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Talk:LaRouche_movement#Discussion\">It may or not be worth looking at the wikipedia edit attempts<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, I&#8217;m thinking that that image was photo-shopped.\u00c2\u00a0 (For it in action, see here.\u00c2\u00a0 .\u00c2\u00a0 He has found the one bit of illogic his membership doesn&#8217;t seem to understand is a bit of illogic &#8212;
