In the Democratic Partisan’s justifiable rancor over Arlen Specter’s warisome Democratic Party credentials, an item is being tossed around about Specter’s hoping for Norm Coleman.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s actually an item the NRSC has put on its campaign wesbite.\u00c2\u00a0 Looking at these comments, in its context<\/a>, I’m at a loss to see what the fuss over this specific item is.<\/span><\/p>\n

With your departure from the Republican Party, there are no more Jewish Republicans in the Senate. Do you care about that? <\/span>
\n<\/strong>I sure do. There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s still time for the Minnesota courts to do justice and declare <\/em>Norm Coleman<\/em><\/span> the winner.<\/em><\/p>\n

Which seems about as likely at this point as <\/em><\/strong>Jerry Seinfeld<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s joining the Senate. <\/em><\/strong><\/span>
\nWell, it was about as likely as my becoming a Democrat.<\/em><\/p>\n

I think I see suggestions that he said the same thing about Coleman in a more serious vein — one where he’s not lamenting the demise of Jewish Republican Senators, but absent seeing that I have to say — Give Arlen Specter a rest on this one and throw more meaningful items in the mix in\u00c2\u00a0a Joe Sestak primary battle.<\/p>\n
