{"id":3295,"date":"2009-01-09T13:39:35","date_gmt":"2009-01-09T20:39:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2009\/01\/09\/doing-the-things-that-a-spider-can\/"},"modified":"2009-01-10T13:07:05","modified_gmt":"2009-01-10T20:07:05","slug":"doing-the-things-that-a-spider-can","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2009\/01\/09\/doing-the-things-that-a-spider-can\/","title":{"rendered":"Doing the things that a spider can&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Spiderman and Barack Obama story is rolling around the Internet.\u00c2\u00a0 Good for ratings, you&#8217;d think.\u00c2\u00a0 Apparently The Chameleon is out to stop Barack Obama from being president.\u00c2\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know how this plot runs &#8212; I think it starts with The Chameleon joining up with that group trying to get Obama disqualified for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldnetdaily.com\/index.php?pageId=80931\">a forged birth certificate<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 After that&#8230; this story synopsis has to be a joke, right?<\/p>\n<p><em>The comic starts with Spider-Man&#8217;s alter-ego <span id=\"lw_1231441155_6\" class=\"yshortcuts\">Peter Parker<\/span> taking photographs at the inauguration, before spotting two identical Obamas.<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Parker decides &#8220;the future president&#8217;s gonna need Spider-Man,&#8221; and springs into action, using basketball to determine the real Obama and punching out the impostor.<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Obama thanks him with a fist-bump.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I see that commenters at <a href=\"http:\/\/newsbusters.org\/blogs\/ken-shepherd\/2009\/01\/08\/even-comic-books-crawling-pro-obama-bias\">&#8220;newsbusters&#8221; <\/a>have soused out the liberal bias here, and &#8212; the horror of these things &#8212; the edgy anti-hero Punisher had a threat against Bush.\u00c2\u00a0 The liberal slash is spelled out here:<\/p>\n<p><em>just like I *knew* MTV would not be allowed to fail. A ten year old reading Spider Man today will, in eight years, be an indoctrinated voter for the Democrats. As a child he gets Nickelodeon and childrens books at Target stores trumpeting Democrats, they are the first product and viewpoint he sees. A teenager gets Spider Man, and MTV, Democrats giving him easy cop-outs to his emerging adulthood and identity issues and pander to his narcissim and impatience and hormonal imperatives.
