{"id":3280,"date":"2009-01-04T15:41:52","date_gmt":"2009-01-04T22:41:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2009\/01\/04\/this-blog-has-a-cult-following-in-the-sense-that-a-cult-follows-it-you-too-can-get-a-cult-following-simply-by-following-a-cult\/"},"modified":"2009-01-06T08:30:32","modified_gmt":"2009-01-06T15:30:32","slug":"this-blog-has-a-cult-following-in-the-sense-that-a-cult-follows-it-you-too-can-get-a-cult-following-simply-by-following-a-cult","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2009\/01\/04\/this-blog-has-a-cult-following-in-the-sense-that-a-cult-follows-it-you-too-can-get-a-cult-following-simply-by-following-a-cult\/","title":{"rendered":"No Title Provided"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The end of the Bush\u00c2\u00a0Administration affords the opportunity to look back and recall some of the\u00c2\u00a0those minor controversies which flared up admist larger political concerns &#8212; the brush-fires off of the larger debates.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0One item forgotten, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.time.com\/time\/magazine\/article\/0,9171,1101020826-338628-1,00.html\">when Richard Perle invited one Laurent Murawiec into\u00c2\u00a0a government\u00c2\u00a0policy<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0board &#8212; one which had been refashioned in the Bush Administration to advocate the neo-conservative view in foreign policy &#8212; topple Saddam Hussein, put fear into Tehran, and on from there.\u00c2\u00a0 Of course, Murawiec is no longer an advocate for Larouche, and we see that he has been referred to as, <em>&#8220;a real-life &#8216;Beetlebaum&#8217; of the legendary mythical horse-race, and a hand-me-down political carcass, currently in the possession of institutions of a peculiar odor.&#8221;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/?id=2069119\"> <\/a><\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/?id=2069119\">But the imprints of his time\u00c2\u00a0with Larouche linger<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0&#8212; as the slate article aptly asks &#8220;and where did he learn to write like this?&#8221; &#8212; with a power point presentation that ends with &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/?id=2069119#powerpoint\">Egypt the Prize<\/a>&#8221; &#8212; surely neo-conservativsm on hyper-drive &#8212; that\u00c2\u00a0perpetual\u00c2\u00a0half suspect whimsical thought pops into my head that maybe he was a plant of the organization all along, or I&#8217;d suggest\u00c2\u00a0more likely &#8212; it&#8217;s a logical extension of where he came from &#8212; the old ally of the\u00c2\u00a0Neoconservative Movement from back in the day &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/lyndonlarouchewatch.org\/kronberg11.htm\">ie:\u00c2\u00a0 the Lyndon Larouche Movement<\/a> &#8212; the advocates of a more aggressive stance against the Soviet Union annoyed by what they viewed as a lax appeasement of real-politik\u00c2\u00a0from figures such as Henry Kissinger &#8212; the stance that would help propel Ronald Reagan and a more aggressive stance against the Soviet Union &#8220;Evil Empire&#8221;, which as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.factnet.org\/vbforum\/showpost.php?p=372013&amp;postcount=29\">we can see here<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0in this letter from Patrick Ruckert to the Seattle Times, the\u00c2\u00a0imprisonment of Larouche was all about the relinquishing of forces\u00c2\u00a0back to a policy agenda that would appease Moscow.<\/p>\n<p><em>Politically, the rush was motivated by the fact that during the Reagan-Bush transition, the government wanted LaRouche out of the way while several policy actions were launched.<\/em><em>The policy issues are the intent of the &#8220;establishment&#8221; to continue appeasement of Moscow; and to implement savage austerity against Third World nations and the U.S. population itself, to hold together a collapsing monetary and banking system.<\/p>\n<p>LaRouche represents an alternative to such policies. That is why anti-Communist forces throughout the world see his jailing as a signal of capitulation to the Soviet empire.
