{"id":3212,"date":"2008-11-26T09:52:42","date_gmt":"2008-11-26T16:52:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2008\/11\/26\/new-canadian-lym-recruitment-techniques-unveiled\/"},"modified":"2008-11-26T19:00:47","modified_gmt":"2008-11-27T02:00:47","slug":"new-canadian-lym-recruitment-techniques-unveiled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2008\/11\/26\/new-canadian-lym-recruitment-techniques-unveiled\/","title":{"rendered":"New Canadian LYM Recruitment Techniques unveiled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am mildly uncomfortably leaving my last post before the Thanksgiving Day weekend on this blog in the category of esoterica into the &#8220;Lyndon Larouche Challenge&#8221;, but those Larouchies have left me no choice.\u00c2\u00a0 Tell me if this isn&#8217;t just a little &#8230; disarming&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>So, I see that there&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/laroucheclub.blogspot.com\/\">this blogspot<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;Larouche Club&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 It appears to be an attempted building block\u00c2\u00a0for a Canada &#8220;movement&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 Take it for what it is.\u00c2\u00a0 But run down the list in the archives.\u00c2\u00a0 A warning for anyone who\u00c2\u00a0pops in to talk\u00c2\u00a0to a card table shriner in Ottawa:<br \/>\n<em>Prospective members will be listed soon. Those who turn it down will also be listed&#8211; with the reasons for the turndown.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>How will this list read?\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;Name:\u00c2\u00a0 John Doe, 879 6th Avenue.\u00c2\u00a0 Reason stated:\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;You&#8217;re f&#8217;ing Nuts.\u00c2\u00a0 Real reason:\u00c2\u00a0 Psychological breaking at Tavistock Institute inflicted by the Cheney &#8212; Brzezinski Cabal.\u00c2\u00a0 Also addicted to his Mother&#8217;s Milk.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I guess is an interesting means of recruitment, though it strikes me as either\u00c2\u00a0approaching\u00c2\u00a0a vague status of\u00c2\u00a0quasi-criminality\u00c2\u00a0in and of itself or an item of circumstantial evidence to toss into a profile for the Jeremiah Duggan Inquest.\u00c2\u00a0 (Incidentally, I had forgotten about Alan Osler&#8217;s blog post on the topic until I looked over some things yesterday, so incidentally the last <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogger.com\/comment.g?blogID=6755920586116700055&amp;postID=5647522715674701368\">two Alan\u00c2\u00a0Osler comments found here have some hilarious lines<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 <em>&#8220;Even though he prints pictures of the Queen of England to make his point.&#8221;<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0 Hilarious.)\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The Ottawa comments\u00c2\u00a0also serve as an answer to the question posed here for <a href=\"http:\/\/laroucheclub.blogspot.com\/2008\/11\/larouche-club-of-burlington-ontario.html\">the Burlington club<\/a>:<br \/>\n<em>Where can we find new members? What should be member be?<br \/>\n<\/em>And I&#8217;m not entirely sure <a href=\"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/wp-admin\/We'll%20be%20contacting%20all%20the%20advertisers%20in%20the%20REV%20to%20see%20if%20they'd%20like%20to%20join.\">what this means<\/a>, but sure&#8230; advertise away.\u00c2\u00a0 Another interesting spot for potential recruits, a favorite spot of the leader of the &#8220;Larouchian Cryonics Movement&#8221; and this random commenter, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.realjewnews.com\/?p=330#comment-20866\">Real Jew News<\/a>&#8220;&#8230; maybe they read it in Canada?<\/p>\n<p>And now I invite anyone and everyone to take the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Leatherstocking Challenge\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (as from\u00c2\u00a0the wikipedia discussions <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Talk:Lyndon_LaRouche#Neutrality_and_COI\">here<\/a> ) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d Leatherstocking being an\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 um\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 impartial observer\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 interested in maintaining balance\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 not a Larouche advocate, you understand\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 right?:<\/p>\n<p><em>Here is how I would handle the problem of keeping fringe viewpoints out of the intro to this article (the word \u00e2\u20ac\u0153fascist\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in the introduction): take a sampling of how \u00e2\u20ac\u0153newspapers of record\u00e2\u20ac\u009d like the New York Times have described LaRouche over the past decade or so, and use that as a guide for how the intro should be written. (By the way, there was a big push by the anti-LaRouche team to say that LaRouche was not an economist, and I found this: [2].)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What world does he live in? How, exactly, does he think a &#8220;sampling of Larouche\u00c2\u00a0descriptions&#8221; from \u00e2\u20ac\u0153newspapers of record\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u0153over the past decade or so\u00e2\u20ac\u009d reads? I gave it a whirl, with a few newspapers (New York Times, Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, Associated Press news service) and heading backward from 2008, I got as far as 2003 before deciding I had had enough.\u00c2\u00a0 I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get too many straight up \u00e2\u20ac\u0153fascists\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, but I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get \u00e2\u20ac\u0153economist\u00e2\u20ac\u009d either.\u00c2\u00a0 Both, I&#8217;m sure, if you were looking for them would turn up.\u00c2\u00a0 \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Fringe\u00e2\u20ac\u009d sort of dominated. Connected to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Perenial presidential candidate\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.
