I was looking through the listing of blogs for results of the primaries\u00c2\u00a0held on Tuesday, and unable to find percentages for either Obama’s or\u00c2\u00a0McCain’s victories, I shrugged and clicked over to Drudge.\u00c2\u00a0 The top\u00c2\u00a0headline was marked with Obama, and on to a link to an ABCNews.com\u00c2\u00a0article.\u00c2\u00a0 But the first item on the left-hand sie struck me as rather…<\/p>\n
There was a headline “Hillary Wears Thatcher Red”, and that we get a\u00c2\u00a0side-by-side image of Hillary Clinton and Margaret Thatcher wearing\u00c2\u00a0similar red dresses.<\/p>\n
I understand the color red in fashion denotes “Power”, thus a wise\u00c2\u00a0decision for a politician needing to display confidence.\u00c2\u00a0 Also all men\u00c2\u00a0should have red ties in their assembly of ties, worn when you need to\u00c2\u00a0impress someone.<\/p>\n
Beyond this, I have to say that I have no clue what Drudge is driving\u00c2\u00a0at here.\u00c2\u00a0 Further, the thought pops up that a drone at Drudge saw\u00c2\u00a0Hillary Clinton, made a connection with Margaret Thatcher, rumbled around for\u00c2\u00a0a photograph of Thatcher, went into adobe and spliced the two\u00c2\u00a0photographs next to each other, and uploaded it ontoDrudge.<\/p>\n
The banality and triviality of it all overwhelms me — part of which is\u00c2\u00a0the simple fact that this will be surely be replaced with an equally\u00c2\u00a0banal and trivial item of concern.<\/p>\n
I heard a criticism of media coverage of our electoral system as\u00c2\u00a0“Theater Review”, personalities take over any policy concerns, and coverage\u00c2\u00a0is focused in on a dramatic storyline of who is up and what is down.\u00c2\u00a0 In\u00c2\u00a0terms of Personalities, you can at least make the case that this shows\u00c2\u00a0the way to how a politician will be governing in Office.\u00c2\u00a0 But\u00c2\u00a0somewhere beyond that we have a Costuming note, and one I cannot say I would\u00c2\u00a0have much noticed, and one I am overwhelmed by just how underwhelming it\u00c2\u00a0is.<\/p>\n
