{"id":212,"date":"2006-05-06T16:15:39","date_gmt":"2006-05-06T23:15:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/?p=212"},"modified":"2006-05-06T16:15:39","modified_gmt":"2006-05-06T23:15:39","slug":"world-war-iii-ye-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2006\/05\/06\/world-war-iii-ye-say\/","title":{"rendered":"World War III, ye say?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name=\"004279\"><\/a>Why is everybody getting in a tizzy that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news.com.au\/story\/0,10117,19043507-38198,00.html\">Bush just named our course of military actions as per the present as &#8220;World War III&#8221;?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s doing former CIA Director James Woolsey one worst, Woolsey being the author of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2003\/US\/04\/03\/sprj.irq.woolsey.world.war\/\">&#8220;This is World War IV&#8221; commentary.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Myself, I have two minds on the subject: we are either still stuck in World War II &#8212; World War II never quite ended &#8212; the whole &#8220;The Nazis faded into the Intelligence Services of the US and the USSR, and took up residence there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>OR&#8230; This is World War FIVE.  I can&#8217;t quite decide where World War IV could be shoe-horned in, though.  Maybe the Napoleonic Wars are tapped as World I, and we can defer to James Woolsey&#8217;s worldview from there.
