{"id":20446,"date":"2020-12-24T16:48:25","date_gmt":"2020-12-24T23:48:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/?p=20446"},"modified":"2021-06-29T17:13:48","modified_gmt":"2021-06-30T00:13:48","slug":"egotists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2020\/12\/24\/egotists\/","title":{"rendered":"Egotists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I suppose one can always find antecedents, if not equivalencies or degrees, toward actions made by the President.\u00c2\u00a0 Or at least many of them.\u00c2\u00a0 At the moment we see Trump &#8220;tearing apart the Republican Party&#8221; (as the reporting analysis goes) in tweet-storms about his Republican leaders not backing him up, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/trump-finally-turning-on-gop-always-going-end-this-way-2020-12\">for not moving along<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/12\/16\/politics\/mitch-mcconnell-donald-trump-election-fraud\/index.html\">the overturning of Biden&#8217;s election<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new territory is the move of the Overton Window &#8212; we now have a stop block of a Democratic House if all pressure points slide apart, but where does this take us in a hypothetical split election (1996, 2012&#8230; 1988&#8230;)?<\/p>\n<p>But the more pendantic issue of a President moving against those in his party he feels did not go to the mat for him or back him&#8230; Well, see thle Clintons&#8217; primary campaigning in (post 2010 census) 2012 based on who pledged their support in the 2008 primary against Obama.
