By comparison, Edward J. Snowden has been much more careful about how leaked documents were published. He recently criticized Mr. Assange, noting that WikiLeaks\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u0153hostility to even modest curation is a mistake.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d […]<\/em><\/p>\n

For many of those who know him well, Mr. Assange is afflicted by what the police call \u00e2\u20ac\u0153noble cause corruption,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d a belief that noble ends justify reckless or immoral means. In a world awash in new information \u00e2\u20ac\u201d and misinformation \u00e2\u20ac\u201d context, motivation and trust are crucial when weighing the importance of leaks and their accuracy. Mr. Assange still claims that WikiLeaks is a beacon of transparency. We should no longer take him at his word.<\/em><\/p>\n
