{"id":14805,"date":"2015-07-30T17:21:30","date_gmt":"2015-07-31T00:21:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/?p=14805"},"modified":"2015-07-30T17:21:30","modified_gmt":"2015-07-31T00:21:30","slug":"the-donald-or-a-donald","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2015\/07\/30\/the-donald-or-a-donald\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;the&#8221; Donald, or &#8220;a&#8221; Donald"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/opinion\/ralph-nader-donald-trump-teachable-moment-article-1.2303616\">Ralph Nader complains about the coverage of Donald Trump<\/a>, and suggests Kasich should be in any Republican debate.<br \/>\nDoes well to complain that the Huffington Post is here in the &#8220;entertainment&#8221; business.<br \/>\nKavitches about poor showing of his various presidential bids &#8212; though I will argue with him on something&#8230; notably, I may suggest, he had a weird 2004 Meet the Press appearance which seemed to overstate his impact.\u00c2\u00a0 (Media driven, he would argue.)<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Nader is a guy who wrote a book &#8212; &#8220;Only the Super-rich can Save Us&#8221; &#8212; which suggests that he&#8217;d like someone in the left-wing of the Plutocracy &#8212; Bill Gates? &#8212; to step in and do what Donald Trump is doing for the Right wing of Plutocracy to &#8230; hm&#8230; now stop Clinton.<\/p>\n<p>I note that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/news\/politics\/elections\/donald-trump-is-the-gift-that-keeps-on-giving-to-jeb-bush\/2238607\">this editorial suggests what I&#8217;ve suggested for a while on Donald Trump<\/a> &#8212; so far he&#8217;s a boon for Jeb Bush, by exhausting all the media oxygen that would otherwise be doing what it did in 2012, bouncing from candidate to candidate &#8212; and while your Rick Perry never picked up the ball, that&#8217;s what would have done in Mitt Romney.<\/p>\n<p><em>For weeks, the blustery billionaire has made it next to impossible for any other Republican candidate to be noticed or emerge as a viable alternative to the former Florida governor.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Though&#8230; here, I&#8217;m now left to wonder&#8230; Donald Trump&#8230; could he &#8230; actually do something as a third party \/ Independent candidate?\u00c2\u00a0 Approach Ross Perot&#8217;s 1992 total, though here submerged entirely with Republican votes?\u00c2\u00a0 (which, naturally, will eventually collapse his vote tally into single digits as they dread the prospects of a Hillary Clinton Presidency). \u00c2\u00a0 Funny that result&#8230; a third Clinton term without a majority of the vote!\u00c2\u00a0 Sure&#8230; Donald Trump has&#8230;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/news\/john-cassidy\/donald-trumps-troubles-are-just-beginning\"> all this<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0 &#8212; but&#8230; does all this matter to the Donald Trump &#8220;Reality Show&#8221; voter in the first place?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ralph Nader complains about the coverage of Donald Trump, and suggests Kasich should be in any Republican debate.
