{"id":13632,"date":"2014-01-22T20:30:24","date_gmt":"2014-01-23T03:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/?p=13632"},"modified":"2014-01-22T20:30:24","modified_gmt":"2014-01-23T03:30:24","slug":"this-years-political-intrigue-with-on-the-superbowl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2014\/01\/22\/this-years-political-intrigue-with-on-the-superbowl\/","title":{"rendered":"this year&#8217;s political intrigue with on the Superbowl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leave it to Iran&#8217;s &#8220;Press TV&#8221; to find the angle on the Superbowl, which, admittedly is something I ponder when I look at the Seahawks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.presstv.ir\/detail\/2014\/01\/21\/346893\/a-911-truth-super-bowl\/\"><span id=\"ctl00_body_spnDetail\">A 9\/11 truth Super Bowl?<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The article is slapdash in who it labels as &#8220;9\/11 Truther&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 Is Michael Moore a &#8220;9\/11 Truther&#8221;?\u00c2\u00a0 Not to my knowledge&#8230; and you have to define the term broadly to get it to fit.<\/p>\n<p>We also get this here&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><em><span id=\"ctl00_body_spnDetail\">Normally, the Super Bowl \u00e2\u20ac\u201c with its ritual militarized violence and crass, tasteless, often downright perverse advertisements \u00e2\u20ac\u201c represents American culture at its worst. But this year&#8217;s Super Bowl, scheduled for February 2nd, will have one redeeming feature: It will put the national spotlight on the rise of the 9\/11 truth movement.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Comedy gold.<\/p>\n<p>Interesting, because <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freerepublic.com\/focus\/f-chat\/3113644\/posts\">when I first saw this story this is a type of comment<\/a> I saw:<\/p>\n<p><em>Reason number 136 to dislike the Seahawks and Pete Carroll.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The most recent reason I see people hating the Seahawks is, of course, Richard Sherman and <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/dallas\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/10321064\/2013-nfl-playoffs-richard-sherman-takes-shots-michael-crabtree\">his dishonorable WWE style trash talking on 49ers player Michael Crabtree<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Note to Sherman: next time the Seahawks play the 49ers, please say &#8220;Crabtree?\u00c2\u00a0 More like CRAP Tree!&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 Because, I don&#8217;t know, why not?<\/p>\n<p>But there&#8217;s a sudden &#8220;Wait.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 The Seahawks are now a Hated team?\u00c2\u00a0 Like, the Cowboys were once, like the Raiders were once?\u00c2\u00a0 That&#8217;s&#8230; weird.<\/p>\n<p>On the matter of Coach Carroll and 9\/11 Truth, and the political angle of who one might ever negligibly root for &#8212; I note last year in a game I did not watch I was ever negligibly rooting for the Ravens on the issue of gay marriage.\u00c2\u00a0 (A Ravens player was for it; 2 49ers players stated their opposition and happened to be in a &#8220;It Gets Better&#8221; video that they didn&#8217;t know what was about)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>So the question for the Seahawks&#8230; do you applaud Pete Carroll and root root root for the Seahawks for sheer chutzpah, or do you axe him for being so wrong-headed on the issue?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leave it to Iran&#8217;s &#8220;Press TV&#8221; to find the angle on the Superbowl, which, admittedly is something I ponder when I look at the Seahawks.
