He cast just one pro-environment vote during the 112th Congress.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Two notes that are not that noteworthy:<\/p>\n<p><em>Almost all of the anti-environmental legislation and amendments passed by the Republican-run House of Representatives was stalled in the Democratic-controlled Senate, and would have faced President Obama\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s veto pen if passed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Curiously, many House efforts to weaken environmental statutes \u00e2\u20ac\u201d e.g. the National Environmental Policy Act and Clean Air Act \u00e2\u20ac\u201d were directed at laws passed under the Nixon Administration or signed into law by President George H.W. (\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I want to be the environmental President\u00e2\u20ac\u009d) Bush<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, Nixon. \u00c2\u00a0Yes Bush the First. \u00c2\u00a0But really, they just thought domestic politics were a bunch of outhouses out in the sticks, and had their eyes on the International Scene. \u00c2\u00a0And yes, House passes, Senate doesn&#8217;t, nothing happens after that. \u00c2\u00a0But I want to know&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0What the hell did Doc Hastings vote for to mar his nearly impeccable record? \u00c2\u00a0Was there, like, something Hanford related or was there something like a &#8220;remove maggots from government cheese&#8221; bill out there?<\/p>\n<p>The one thing you can say is nothing has changed&#8230; he is consistent, <a href=\"http:\/\/scorecard.lcv.org\/moc\/doc-hastings\">with a lifetime average of 3<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Doc Hastings wants Interior Watchdog to go after Obama. \u00c2\u00a0Or be replaced. \u00c2\u00a0And for someone new to go after Obama.
