{"id":1063,"date":"2004-07-13T18:59:58","date_gmt":"2004-07-14T01:59:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/?p=1063"},"modified":"2004-07-13T18:59:58","modified_gmt":"2004-07-14T01:59:58","slug":"arshes-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2004\/07\/13\/arshes-all\/","title":{"rendered":"Arshes All"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name=\"002479\"><\/a>I rather distinctly remember my dad laughing at Zell Miller&#8217;s line <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/groups?q=+%22Zell+Miller%22&amp;hl=en&amp;lr=&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;safe=active&amp;as_drrb=b&amp;as_mind=12&amp;as_minm=5&amp;as_miny=1989&amp;as_maxd=12&amp;as_maxm=7&amp;as_maxy=1994&amp;selm=1992Jul16.061335.24598%40cc.gatech.edu&amp;rnum=5\">from the keynote speech at the 1992 DNC convention<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><i>And so the choice in this election is clear&#8211;we&#8217;ve got us a race<br \/>\nbetween an aristocrat, an autocrat and a Democrat.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Ross Perot withdrew from the race the following day, before rejoining the race seemingly during the RNC Convention.<\/p>\n<p>Zell Miller is speaking at the 2004 Republican Convention, seemingly the most Conservative and straight-forward Republican face that the RNC is going to have speaking during prime-time&#8230; going with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2004_02.html#001882\">this line<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One thing I recall about the DNC and RNC conventions: during the week of the DNC convention, the far-flung fourth network FOX (not covering these events&#8211; interestingly enough, they broadcasted just few enough hours to avoid the then-curcial and now-probably not &#8220;public service mandate&#8221; of news coverage) finished an unprecedented third in the ratings race.
