{"id":10315,"date":"2012-08-07T10:43:33","date_gmt":"2012-08-07T17:43:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/?p=10315"},"modified":"2012-08-07T10:47:59","modified_gmt":"2012-08-07T17:47:59","slug":"there-are-3-election-states-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2012\/08\/07\/there-are-3-election-states-today\/","title":{"rendered":"There are 3 election states today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ourcampaigns.com\/CandidateDetail.html?CandidateID=256382\">It doesn&#8217;t appear Alan Jacquemotte\u00c2\u00a0is running for anything<\/a>. \u00c2\u00a0Formerly of the Natural Law party (maybe the last candidate for the party ever?) \u00c2\u00a0and now a Republican.<\/p>\n<p>I suppose he didn&#8217;t spell out when he was running <a href=\"http:\/\/www.struat.com\/election\/2011\/02\/07\/who-is-alan-jacquemotte\/comment-page-1\/#comment-529138\">here<\/a>, but I did just assume he was running this year. \u00c2\u00a0Oh well. \u00c2\u00a0I had intended to poke in at around primary time. \u00c2\u00a0The primary is on. \u00c2\u00a0I don&#8217;t see him. \u00c2\u00a0So it goes&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Michigan. \u00c2\u00a0Or, for one of the fluke one party states where there&#8217;s nothing up in the Senate contest. \u00c2\u00a0Pete Hoekstra is supposed to win against\u00c2\u00a0Clark Durant. \u00c2\u00a0And then lose in November. \u00c2\u00a0But be reasonably competitive in doing so.<\/p>\n<p>Missouri&#8217;s Republican Senate race, on the other hand, is&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/news\/2012\/08\/tea-party-feud-in-missouri-primary.html\">fun<\/a>?<br \/>\n<em>\u00c2\u00a0But in Missouri, FreedomWorks, the Express, and other influential conservative players find themselves on opposite sides of tomorrow&#8217;s contested\u00c2\u00a0Senate primary.\u00c2\u00a0FreedomWorks for America, the super PAC arm of conservative nonprofit FreedomWorks, has endorsed businessman John Brunner. The\u00c2\u00a0Tea Party Express, however, has thrown its support and $76,000 in outside spending behind former state treasurer Sarah Steelman, who recently claimed Sarah Palin&#8217;s endorsement. Meanwhile, a third candidate, Rep.\u00c2\u00a0Todd Akin\u00c2\u00a0(R-Mo.) has been endorsed by Rep.\u00c2\u00a0Michele Bachmann\u00c2\u00a0(R-Minn.), who heads the Congressional Tea Party Caucus<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Claire McCaskill, the Democratic incumbent, is probably the most vulnerable Democrat going into November.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailypaul.com\/247786\/vote-today-in-mo#comment-2656596\">Your Ron Paul &#8220;Lberty&#8221; candidates<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0in all three state primary races.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Washington is left watching to see&#8230; whether the Republican or the Democratic nominee will come in first. \u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.king5.com\/news\/local\/KING-5-poll-Inslee-gains-ground-164955946.html\">It doesn&#8217;t matter<\/a>, but the state needs to watch something. \u00c2\u00a0Otherwise we&#8217;re down to\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.seattleweekly.com\/dailyweekly\/2012\/08\/primary_follies_goodspaceguy_m.php\">the typical clown show lineup of perennials<\/a>. \u00c2\u00a0Please, everyone&#8230; vote for goodspaceguy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It doesn&#8217;t appear Alan Jacquemotte\u00c2\u00a0is running for anything. \u00c2\u00a0Formerly of the Natural Law party (maybe the last candidate for the party ever?) \u00c2\u00a0and now a Republican.
