He also proposes to &#8220;grant citizenship to all undocumented workers living here for more than 7 years without a criminal history.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>That sounds like a big liberal limb to jump out on to Texas&#8217;s voters, and it&#8217;s certainly not a place that Paul Sadler is willing to go<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Which is interesting, <a href=\"http:\/\/trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com\/2012\/06\/democratic-senate-candidates-clash-in-runoff-tv-debate-in-dallas.html\/\">considering the debate performance<\/a>:<br \/>\n<em>Yarbrough said he was on board with any number of measures, including a wall or fence, to close the U.S.-Mexico border. And to make his point, he referenced the infamous Berlin Wall, saying \u00e2\u20ac\u0153it was pretty effective.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/em><br \/>\n<em> \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We have to use whatever method is at our disposal,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he said<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>They are, I suppose, not contradictory positions.\u00c2\u00a0 But considering that Yarbrough was apparently trying to get the votes of a mixture of people voting for the ghost of Ralph and a mixture of Hispanic and black votes (he claims he ran around the state and went to crowds of minorities) &#8212; well, quite the idiosyncratic positioning.\u00c2\u00a0 Probably just pandering twice.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway.\u00c2\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t matter.\u00c2\u00a0 Sadler won.\u00c2\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/08\/01\/us\/politics\/cruz-defeats-dewhurst-for-gop-nomination-in-texas-senate-race.html\">And he now goes on to lose to the Tea Party challenger to the Establishment Republican pick<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 And there&#8217;s a certain hand-wringing to Democratic voters and activists &#8212; &#8220;If only we coulda found a contender&#8221; &#8212; this coulda been the year, after a decade of futility with contenders in what looked like they could be the year for statewide election results.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway&#8230; election results for the day&#8217;s contests&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/story\/2012\/07\/31\/1115365\/-Daily-Kos-Elections-Texas-runoff-Georgia-primary-preview\">I&#8217;ll see if there&#8217;s anything later<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last ditch electioneering from Grady Yarbrough.
