March 15, 1957) is an American film and television actress, known for her trademark heavy\u00c2\u00a0Southern\u00c2\u00a0accent. Her best-known role was as nurse Laverne Higby Todd Kane in the sitcom,\u00c2\u00a0Empty Nest, though she has appeared in a number of feature films, including\u00c2\u00a0Biloxi Blues,\u00c2\u00a0Mississippi Burning,\u00c2\u00a0Beer For My Horses, and more recently,\u00c2\u00a0In the Family. Overall is also an environmental and women&#8217;s rights activist, and is currently running for the U.S. Senate seat held byBob Corker<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Sure. \u00c2\u00a0Why not? \u00c2\u00a0The other two candidates: \u00c2\u00a0one is still promoting his last Senate bid on his campaign website, and the other facing charges for soliciting a minor. \u00c2\u00a0Looks like Park Overall is the Democratic nominee.<\/p>\n<p>The Republican Opposition?<br \/>\n<em>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Just look to see who\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s contributing to his campaign,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Zach Poskevich, a tea-party-backed Republican from Hendersonville. He said that might explain why Corker voted for the 2008 bank bailout and for the 2009 Cash for Clunkers program that offered consumers rebates to trade in gas-guzzlers for more\u00c2\u00a0fuel-efficient\u00c2\u00a0cars.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Poskevich and Brenda Lenard, a Republican from the Knoxville suburbs who also has tea-party support, slammed Corker for his involvement in discussions about financial reform legislation<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>All righty then. \u00c2\u00a0Not one but two Tea Party opponents.<\/p>\n<p>Pennsylvania Tea Party News. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2012\/07\/02\/tom-smith-pennsylvania_n_1644607.html#slide=more227668\">\u00c2\u00a0And the Republican Senate candidate who will lose to Bob Casey, Jr in November<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><em>The Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Pennsylvania praised a local Tea Party member who had just compared President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler during a rally over the weekend.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Tom Smith during remarks at the Blair County Tea Party FreedomFest 2012 in Hollidaysburg said the speaker before him had spoken &#8220;eloquently.&#8221; The preceding speaker, Phil Waite, had just compared Obama&#8217;s policies with those employed by Hitler in the 1920s and 1930s, and warned that Obama could try to do the same thing to the United States.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>&#8220;As the gentleman that was speaking before me was so eloquently saying about so many things,&#8221; Smith said prior to giving a speech regarding Obama&#8217;s energy policies. [&#8230;]<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00c2\u00a0Waite did note in his speech that he doesn&#8217;t have any issues with Obama personally and praised Obama&#8217;s marriage to first lady Michelle Obama. &#8220;I have no problem with President Obama as a person,&#8221; Waite said. &#8220;I&#8217;m glad he&#8217;s married.
