The endorsement that will elect Mitt Romney

This should really rally the conservative faithful.  Because they never had any problem with George HW Bush…  It’s not like some right-wing nut ran around in the 1992 primaries taking a third of the Republican vote everywhere, or anything like that.

With an eye to building some momentum, yesterday former President George H. W. Bush, that’s the first President Bush, endorsed Romney in his office in Houston.
PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH: Well, I think it’s time for the people to all get behind this good man. We’re so convinced, and maybe because we’ve known Mitt for a long time, that he’s the man to do this job and get on and win the presidency.
GOODWYN: It was a nice moment for Governor Romney, who was clearly appreciative.
MITT ROMNEY: Having your support means a great deal to me on a personal basis, a family basis, and also on a national basis.
GOODWYN: The former president’s wife, Barbara, has already been working for Romney, recording robocalls for his campaign. And his son, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, has also already endorsed Romney.

His son, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.  Are there any other sons?  No endorsement from Neil, perhaps?

Mr. Romney’s campaign is hoping that he will get a boost from the former president’s endorsement as he heads toward primaries in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Wisconsin on Tuesday. He also hopes that Mr. Bush’s blessing will help in the Texas primary on May 2.

One of Bush’s five native states, I believe.  Texas.  Where he lost to Yarborough and  Bentsen, ages ago.

Bush will now give Romney suggestions on how to relate to the working class.  Remember to eat Beef Jerky pork rinds.   And rallying around the Pledge of Allegiance.

Barack Obama, meantime, picks up the odd endorsement from Harper Lee.  As well the Uhura endorsement — “legend”?
